The Fort Morgan Historic Site is located on Mobile Point on the Fort Morgan Peninsula along the Alabama Gulf Coast. Managed by the Alabama Historical Commission, the Fort Morgan Historic Site was built in 1864 and played a key role during the Civil War Battle of Mobile Bay. The 479-acre site was Alabama's largest permanent military post between 1900 and 1923.
Today the site stands as a National Historic Landmark. Walk through the museum at Fort Morgan Historic Site to learn about the military history of Mobile Point from 1814 to 1945 via photographs, weaponry, letters. uniforms, and artifacts from soldiers during that time.
